THE TORR is our biannual journal – written by the members – and is free to everyone in the Society.

“It is my business to know things. Perhaps I have trained myself to see what others overlook.”

A Case of Identy

The aim of The Poor Folk Upon the Moors has always been to increase the knowledge and understanding of its members in the life and times of Mr Sherlock Holmes, the world’s first private consulting detective, and his friend and colleague Dr John H. Watson as portrayed within the stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

THE TORR is our biannual journal – written by the members – and is free to everyone in the Society.

The journal contains news, reviews and various articles and letters, all of which celebrate Sherlock Holmes and his creator and may help us to understand the times they lived in. This illustrated publication also brings you Society news, our President’s and Chairman’s thoughts, and reports on Society events and functions.

Contributions from new members are always welcome and our editor, Stephan Arthur, is always on the lookout for any items which have a Holmesian connection.

Our other publications include The Camelot Series, Monographs and Pamphlets.
